Cheshire Oset Cup Information

The Oset Cheshire Cup series was founded by Ian & Jo Mackman in January 2014, running alongside the Frodsham and District MCC trials events. The first round of the series saw 9 riders take part. Since then the championship has gone from strength to strength. As the entries numbers increased we were able to make virtually every round ALL ELECTRIC. In fact the series has grown to be the biggest all electric trials series in the country with rider numbers of up to 57 per round.

Every trial consists of 5 sections completed four times each with 3 routes of varying difficulty.

The novice route is for the raw beginner with some twists and turns and a few small banks. It is designed to give the riders an introduction to trials and suits all models of oset from the 12.5 to 20.0.

The intermediate route is the next step up, with some tighter turns, larger banks and the odd small obstacle. Ideally suited to the Oset 16.0 and above. The expert route is harder still with some tough obstacles, tighter turns and bigger banks. Once again it suits the Oset 16.0 and above.

All ACU youth age groups are catered although riders must be 4 years old to compete. The championship runs from March to November and the rider’s worst score is dropped. The championship awards are presented at our prize giving/practice trial in January/February each year.

To take part riders need to be a member of an ACU affiliated club and have an ACU licence. All of which can be organised when signing on at the trial.

The events are very relaxed and great fun for kids and adults alike. It’s good to see the riders improve at every event, riding alongside others seems to really build their confidence.
